Volunteers organize Hope Shines 2012 benefit for mental health awareness
With the second anniversary of her husband’s suicide approaching, Darienne Rose is channeling her grief into a collaborative effort to raise mental health and suicide awareness through the event Hope Shines 2012.
Rose, 26, is no stranger to depression. The singer-songwriter and mother has struggled with depression since she was 13, the age at which she started cutting herself and turned to alcohol and drugs to cope. Rose had learned to find happiness and love herself shortly before her husband took h is own life.
